The Ranger II drysuit is the latest development using all the experience acquired since producing the world's first lightweight drysuit over 20 years ago. They now make one of the toughest drysuits on the market today. If you need a suit capable of withstanding the most demanding diving environments and the rough treatment of a rigorous diving schedule, the Ranger II meets this call.
The Ranger II is made from a remarkable fabric. A waterproof Butyl rubber membrane is protected on both sides by a high tenacity Nylon such as ICI's Nylon 6.6. It has a very high tear, puncture and abrasion resistance but it is supple and therefore comfortable to wear. This material was developed for Typhoon by Alfred O Ferguson & Co Ltd, a leading company in this field. Nylon 6.6 in it's various forms is used in parachute harnesses, body armor, and to reinforce aircraft tyres.
Such a touch fabric demamds strong seaming. The Ranger II uniquely starts life as a 'Dry Bag'. All the seams are overlapped and hand bonded using a two part adhesive, a similar system to that used in making inflatable boats. As there is no stiching there are no holes to seal. The outside of the seams are doubly protected with neoprene tape making repairs easy in the case of accidental damage. This construction technique was pioneered by Typhoon 20 years ago.
Typhoon realise the importantance of comfort. The Ranger II provides this in the new thermally lined boots with an integral 4 mm thick inner neoprene liner. They are warm and very comfortable to wear and designed to fit into most fins without cramping the feet. Internal braces are standard too, as is the adjustable inner waist band. This is fitted into a Neoprene kidney pad, a development by Typhoon belived to be unique.
[The protective Zip Cover]--Special Doubled taping--[Special Typhoon boots]
Th front zip offers a quick self don option. The zip cover protects it from wear and helps to keep out sand and grit which can damage teeth. The neck amd wrist seals are double thickness for extended life.
Typhoon have developed a composite knee pad with an outer polyurethane coating giving triple protection in this vunrable area. Ths inside leg seams have been moved to a non-chafe position at the back of the leg.
Like all Typhoon drysuits, each Ranger II must pass our rigrous submersion test before leaving the factory and is, of course, fully guaranteed.
